Sheltie Nation

Sheltie Lifeguard…

Angel & Hershey have very different opinions about the water & if you should be in it.  For example, look at where Hershey’s feet are compared to Angel.  Right on the edge…

Hershey WANTS to get in there with Nik.  Angel WANTS to get Nik out.

Anyone else’s Sheltie get mad at anyone who is in the pool (dog or person) because they think it is “a sheep gone astray” so they bark and follow them all around the pool to make sure they are OK and haven’t drowned?  I know all of my Shelties, past & present do this too!

Very typically Sheltie, Cammy!  ;)

  1. When I was a kid, we had an above ground pool. Our Sheltie used to run circles around it, barking and jumping up to see us. She would only stop if we let her swim, too (which she loved).

  3. WOW, I have never considered my babies, Jack and Harley, might be angry at my son for being out of reach to them. It drives us crazy to have them outside when the kids are in the pool. Of course the kids think it’s funny!

  4. My Sheltie, Mac, used to do that all the time! He’d run around and around our pool … barking at us to get out!
    Love your blog!!

  5. Looks like Hershey wants to jump in and play too. Angel is very concerned about all of this. Dasher is the same way. He is always on watch. If my husband gets up to do something. He has to follow him to check it out too.
