oh yes! I know THIS look very well! Every fall, I have I have to put up a garden fence about three feet in from the boundry fence so that I have grass in the spring and not have to carry Shadow and Shelly to the bathtub to hose off the feet, legs, belly, before they are allowed in the house.

We have the same problem, I am building a 4ft border of sand and mulch by the fence one section at a time. Seems to be working.
