HAHAHAH the caption to this picture is HILARIOUS! It’s so true, they always have to know where you are.
She’s a super sleuth!
My shelties have ALWAYS known where I AM! yes, they sure smart folks, aren’t they?! Darling photo, as always!
And aren’t you glad you are never alone? I need those eyes and those heartbeats in my house! ( and btw, I can’t even be alone in the bathroom with my thoughts without a companion or at least their fur creeping underneath the door because they are leaning right up against it, waiting for me.)
Just when I think Lucy is sleeping soundly and I try to sneak away (like to the bathroom), she is suddenly alert. Yes, I’ve seen that look, many, many, many times–a day!
Can’t sleep……must remain vigilant in case the herd goes on the move!!!
Our Sugar does the same thing of course. And if heaven forbid the humans are in different rooms! Then she picks the most central location. Nature’s Guardian, Ha! more like Nature’s Secret Policeman. The long nose is for making it easier to poke into the business of others.
She is my first dog so I don’t know if this is a dog trait, a rescue trait, a herding trait, or a Sheltie trait but I do find it endearing.
I’m pretty sure it’s a Sheltie thing! I hear other dog owners playing ‘hide and seek’ with their dogs. Lucy would never let me out of her sight long enough for me to hide!
When I was young, instead of saying, “Mind Your Own Business”, my day would say, “Got nose trouble?” Which is PERFECT to say to a Sheltie!
Traits listed . . . all the above. If this is your first Sheltie you are in for a LIFE TIME of more fun and love than you can handle. Just you wait, every day just gets better and better. What a cutie, lucky you!
What a cutie pie. I just love that Look in her eye.
I SWEAR SHE REMINDS ME OF THAT FAIRY TALE LINE THAT SAYS, ” WHY GRANDMAW, WHAT BIG EYES/EARS YOU HAVE ! ” I KNOW SHE IS NOT THE BIG BAD WOLF, BUT SHE GIVES A VERY GOOD IMPRESSION OF ONE. GREAT IMPERSONATION, BRANDI !! KEEP A GOOD LOOK OUT !
