Granite State (NH) Sheltie Rescue: Rocky

Check out this sweet boy! Rocky is a 6 year old neutered tri-color Sheltie. He is a wonderful dog with a great temperament. He gets along with other dogs and cats, walks well on a leash, knows sit, down, high-five and give. He loves to sit next to his humans while the TV is on, loves to play with toys and of course, bark! He has not been around a lot of children, but when he has he tends to ignore them.

He was in a lot of pain due to a torn ACL in his right rear leg, but came through surgery just fine. Some arthritis had set in and some bone spurs had to be cleaned up and filed down as well. Proper care and physical therapy are key to a full recovery, which will take about 8 to 12 weeks. He’s being a real trooper and is on the mend. He will be available for adoption once he has recovered from surgery.Sheltie for adoption in New Hampshire

As you can imagine the cost of the surgery has taxed the rescue so any donations would be gratefully accepted.  If you can’t resist Rocky’s sweet face, you can learn more about him and fill out an application by visiting Rocky’s page.

UPDATE: Rocky has been adopted by a wonderful family in CT who saw him right here on Sheltie Nation!
