Tri-State Sheltie Rescue: Boopie

boopieBoopie is a senior male Sheltie who is somewhere between 10 and 12.  He a very sweet dog and is up-to-date on all his vaccinations, heart worm tested, microchipped and neutered.

Boopie is good with people and would do best as an only dog or maybe with one other, preferably a Sheltie or a dog of similar size and one that won’t be on top of him. Boopie does great with the Sheltie and a puppy in his foster home, but is not a big fan of the bigger dog in the home.  He should NOT be with small children as their sudden movements and noise make him very nervous. He would be OK with older children that understand they have go slow with him and not make quick movements or gestures.

Boopie is not a big barker, but when someone else is barking he will chime right in. He does not play with toys as of now, but enjoys chewing bones. He is very loving and likes to put his paws up on the couch or bed for a pat and will cuddle with you. Boopie is crate trained and a very happy boy whose tail never stops wagging. Sadly he had to be shaved due to severe matting, but his coat is growing in.  He is a real cutie!

Boopie needs a home to call his own for his senior years.  If you’d like to adopt Boopie, please contact Julie at Tri-State Sheltie Rescue  sheltielove94@aol.com. Tri-State covers NY/NJ/CT.

Please share him with your family and friends!

  1. I have one sheltie boy, very mild manner and unsheltie like quiet. I think he would love Boopie. My boy likes to sit and watch, isn’t too active but sure loves going for drives and napping. I know the saying if you have one you should have another like chips. I think they would get along quite well. I am so so so tempted, as something about Boopie is really making me think about him non stop the last 24 hours.

  2. WHAT A FACE, WHAT A LOVING FACE! THANKS TO THOSE WHO RESCUED HIM FROM A LIFE OF MISERY. I AM SURE HE WILL HAVE A FOREVER HOME SOON—- WHO COULD RESIST THAT FACE FOR VERY LONG?
I PRESENTLY HAVE TWO DOGGIES, A SHELTIE AND A BORDER COLLIE, 2 & 3 YRS OF AGE WHO WOULD NO DOUBT DRIVE HIM CRAZY.
    BEST OF LUCK WITH ADOPTION.
    BLESSINGS!

  3. We foster a senior (she’s at least 10) sheltie girl with some serious health problems. Due to those health problems she’s been with us for 8 months. She is such a joy and sweet thing. She is a part of our family now (she can’t be placed due to said health problems). I never knew an older dog could be so wonderful. We will consider senior dogs from now on :)

  4. Little Boopie looks like a sheltie-lion cross! I SO hope someone will see beyond the simple number of his age and realize he has LOTS of love to give!

  5. What a cutie.

  6. What a great photo of Boopie, I could tell immediately it was a professional photo-his personality really shows. I wish I could take Boopie, but we have 2 shelties now, and one is on the big side who also likes to bowl over the smaller one.

I know Boopie will find his forever home soon , where he can be the star of the family while he wags his tail & looks gorgeous once his coat grows back in.

  7. I have no doubt that Boopie will be in his furever home before long.

Wishing him a loving family of his own and of course, lots of cookies!

Thank you to all the rescue groups who give these beautiful souls a second life full of love!

    Kimberly

  8. Look at that sweet little senior face and I love the eyes, always about the eyes. Since the hair on the head and face is a great indicator, little Boopie is going to be a really good looking gentleman. Good luck with your new forever home, sweet baby.
