Sheltie Nation

Thank You

tobypuppy From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for your prayers, private notes and posted comments on Sheltie Nation about our loss of little Toby. It is comforting to know there is an entire community of Sheltie people who know and feel the way we do about our dogs. Each and every comment has meant the world to my family and I.

We have had a hard time adjusting to life without Toby’s sweet and sunny presence. Even Tyler has been grieving for him (they were best buddies), but we are trying hard to make him feel better and give him extra attention.

We will start back up with the daily posts tomorrow, but a few more happy memories of beautiful Toby.

  1. I am so sorry Toby is no longer physically here. It’s wonderful that you have so many memories, pictures and videos to remember your sweet boy by. I love the Magician Sheltie – what a great trick! There needs to be more games with the Sheltie undercarriage extrafluff.

  2. Thank you so much for sharing with us such wonderful images and descriptions of Toby’s life and his unconditional love and devotion to you. We all know that shelties are special. We also know that there are special shelties. If we are lucky, one or more of them will come into our lives. These are the shelties who make us smile just by entering the room, who make their thoughts known just by looking us in the eyes. They are always there for us when we need comfort most. We can talk to them without saying a word. It is pure unconditional love. This is a dog that when you look into his eyes, you see right through to his soul. Toby was such a dog. He will be missed, but he will never be forgotten.

  3. I have not been on here for a while due to illness in our family..I am so terribly sorry to hear of your heartfelt loss of little Toby..He was so beautiful and will be missed by all…

  4. Your beautiful video/photo memorial tribute to Toby brought me to tears. I know Toby was a beloved member of your family and he is K-9 heaven smiling and saying Thank You for the life you and your family gave to him. May the love and support of the Members of Sheltie Nation help ease to your sorrow. Thank You for sharing Toby with us!!!!

  5. So sorry for your loss. Shelties are soo special !!!!

  6. With tears in my eyes while writing so if I misspell something you will know why ? Toby like all shelties have traits that no other breed have. They are so true blue to their owners and it is so hard to let them go when you know it is the right thing to do. Toby will always hold that extra special place in your heart, he was beautiful on the inside & out just look at the pictures, his face tells his personality. Hugs to you & your family and of course to Tyler, he will miss his best friend!
    Love

  7. I am so deeply sorry for your loss of your Toby. We lost our precious Candi at 17 years old in April and I have only been able to read part of your E-mail. Candi’s loss has left our house with such a void that I fear that we will never be able to recuperate. So, yes we understand your sorrow. Everyone tells that the tears will turn to fond memories; we are still waiting for that. I hope you find solace in the fact that you are not alone in your grief, that we are thinking of you and your family.

  8. Kelly,
I just reading about this an I am so saddened to hear of Toby’s passing. I am so terribly sorry for your loss. It is never easy to lose a pet, especially one as special as Toby. Sending my prayers to you and your family, shelties and all.

  9. I am so sorry for your loss. We are thinking of you and Tyler. The love of a sheltie is so pure!

  10. Truly all of us who have been there feel your loss and the pain…. So sorry

  11. Kelly, Toby was indeed the cutest sheltie in the world and I know he meant the world to you. Having lost my sweet Teddy last November (he was the inspiration for Tam in my book), I know the pain you are feeling. Sending you and your family healing hugs from Utah.

  12. Thanks for posting videos of Toby. He was beautiful and so cute. I asked my Clancy if he remembered Bebe, who I lost almost a year ago in September. They were together for 6 years so it was a loss for him too. When I mentioned her name he started looking around and getting excited. I’m glad he remembers her too. It takes forever to get over the extreme hurt. Eventually it is just a dull hurt. But you will never get over it completely. She will remain in your heart forever. I am glad that you have other wonderful Shelties to help you to heal. They are so intuitive and will always be able to give you the extra love that you are craving from Toby.

  13. Thank you for sharing the photos of your beautiful baby. Unfortunately, I am familiar with the grief that you are experiencing as I lost two in 2011 within six months of each other. I now have two more that came into my life shortly after the loss of my second and they have brought new joy to me. I will never get over the loss of Mindy and Morgan but I take comfort in the memories of my precious babies.

Best wishes to you and your family at this very difficult time.

    Sincerely,

    Valerie

  14. What a sweet & beautiful Sheltie. God Bless during this time.

  15. Toby was so darling! St. Francis will take very good care of him for you, Kelly.

  16. Our hearts go out to you. Tears streamed down my face watching your precious little videos. Toby’s mannerisms are just like our boy, Echo. Shelties are indeed a “different” breed, they steal your hearts and capture it forever.

  17. Thanks for the additional images and videos of Toby!

What a precious soul he was…
Knowing those memories are in your heart forever and will never leave offers some comfort at this difficult time.

    Remembering you is easy,
    I do it every day,
But there’s an ache within my heart,
    That will never go away.

Virtual hugs from me and virtual licks from my boys coming your way!

  18. Farewell, beautiful Toby. And condolences to your family.

With tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat…

  19. Thank you for more of Toby, we can never get enough of your sweet little boy. Run free and whole sweet Angel.

  20. I am convinced that all Sheltie lovers grieve with you.. God bless you

  21. My heart hurts for you…and, selfishly, for me. I loved seeing pictures of Toby and he is all over one of my Pinterest boards. He will be missed…
