Jasmine
Empty yet Full

The bowl, the bed, and the spot near the foyer are empty now, yet they are so filled with memories.
The crate upstairs next to my bed is now empty, but I remember when you could bound upstairs with me, hop into your crate, and lie down in it, close to me.
The leashes hanging on a rack on the wall will never be again worn, but memories of long walks and holiday dinners will always be hanging there.
The house is now empty, but it is filled with memories of bright-eyed-and-wagging-tail greetings, longing brown eyes waiting for a treat, peaceful slumber on cool tiles, cuddles as you lay on the kitchen floor, twirling and prancing with delight, sleeping in a crate beside my bed at night.
Jasmine, although you are gone,
Your memory lives on!

Hi Sonja, I was so sorry to hear of Jasmine’s passing. She was such a sweet little girl. I’m glad to have been of help rescuing her. Your poem was awesome. Love and hugs, John
Although I was one of your caretakers, I will never forget the moment I laid eyes on you on Petfinder.
“Jasmine is cute, sweet, well behaved and patiently waiting for someone to notice her on Petfinder. She was surrendered to rescue by a family that couldn’t/wouldn’t care for her. Her coat was in extremely bad shape with fleas and mats and??? I found Jasmine to be very patient with all the grooming and bath she needed immediately. She seemed so happy to finally be clean again!”
Unfortunately, she was used as a backyard breeding dog! When I saw her picture and read her bio I knew my sister, a school teacher, would love to make her part of our lives. We rescued her and loved her to pieces! The remainder of her life was filled with LOVE and KINDNESS! We will miss her dearly. RIP sweet angel.
