Sheltie FAQ
The Shetland Sheepdog is one of the most beautiful, smart, friendly, loyal, loving (and sometimes quirky!) dog breed. Shelties are very human-oriented, making them a very good choice for a family dog. If you socialize them early, they can be great with kids.
Normally standing at 13 to 16 inches tall and weighing 15 to 23 pounds, Shelties are a medium dog breed with a moderate need for exercise. Unlike some herding dogs with a strong drive to work, they don’t need constant stimulation. They are perfectly happy living in an apartment as well as a country residence – as long as you’re there to give them attention and some daily, moderate exercise. Shelties are very adaptable to a wide range of lifestyles.
