These two senior boys take a break in the shade after helping me water the gardens. Buddy at 11 years young (left) and Toby at 13, are both proud alumni of Second Chance Sheltie Rescue of St. Louis. They may not go as far or as fast as they used to, but that’s what makes all of my seniors so special.
Hugs to you Christine!
Buddy is at Honeymoon Island State Park’s dog beach, off the coast of Dunedin, Florida.
The bench is inscribed:
Buddy says: weeeee!
Love his happy expression, Jo!
Buddy came to us at 13 months old from a working farm as a working dog. His new life became that of a papered prince that he was born to be. His gets daily walks, goes skateboarding, hiking all over Saskatchewan Canada, camping and fishing. Buddy does it all.
I never knew just how smart and loving Shelties are till my Buddy came to me!
Welcome to the ‘I spoil my Sheltie Club’, Bonnie-Jean! ;)
Buddy says: “I turned thirteen on November 7th!”
I adopted Buddy after seeing him on Petfinder. He had been dumped in a kill shelter around Christmas Eve when he was ten. Since arriving, he’s brought a lot of excitement into all our lives! He’s the friskiest puppy here. He could play fetch all day, if I could. He had cancer 18 months ago but it was removed with good margins and he’s been fine ever since!
Happy Belated Birthday Buddy and hugs to you Eva for all you do for those senior Shelties!
This is Buddy. We call him Buddy Bear. He was raised outdoors his entire life and had not seen the inside of a house until rescued by Second Chance Sheltie Rescue of St. Louis (SCSR). Buddy has fallen in love with his Chipmunk and it’s rare that the two are separated. This gentle giant is 100% love, tail wags and Sheltie kisses. It has been my extreme pleasure to foster Buddy and introduce him to the luxury of old quilts and a soft toy. I am confident he will find his forever family soon. In the meantime, he and Chipmunk sit and wait patiently.
Hugs to you Christine for fostering this sweet boy!

Buddy’s poker face is most intimidating!
Ha ha, Jo & Tim!
But a SMART hot dog. ;)
Thank goodness for AC right, Jo?
