And may all your Christmas trees have a Sheltie (or two, or three) under it!  ;)

Another Sheltie Nation headquarters birthday!

Many of you may already know that Toby & Trevor are related.  (For those of you who don't, Trevor's mom & a cousin or two are in Toby's pedigree.)  But did you know that their birthdays are a day apart?!  OK, not the same year (Trevor just turned 11 and Toby 5) but we think it is pretty neat & makes celebrating their birthdays easier.

But here is a new tidbit for you….Did you also know that Toby's dad is the famous Zion's Man About Town?  That explains why Toby is soooo handsome & everyone he meets wants to puppy-nap him from us.  :)

So in honor of Toby's birthday we present him all fluffed up from his birthday bath.  Trevor says "hi" from the background!  ^..^  Woof!

Now that we are done shamelessly bragging about our own Shelties we will be back to your regular Sheltie programming tomorrow.  ;)

Herding fish

Today is Trevor’s 11th birthday!  It is cause for even greater celebration than usual, as we were not sure he would have still been with us for this milestone.  (He is fighting liver disease & failing knees.  But thankfully, he is doing pretty good these days.)

So I thought I’d take a moment to share one of Trevor’s little precious quirks that make us giggle.  I always knew he had a keen herding instinct, but never had him officially tested. I’m pretty confident he would have done just fine.

As you can see, he is the little protector of all living things here at Eden Farm.  Even the fish.  When they are all rounded up I can’t get his head out of the bucket.

Of course much to Trevor’s glee, this is a twice a year process (once in the spring when they go outside into the pond and once in the fall when the fishes go live in their indoor tank.)  He is glued to the bucket and can’t wait until I put it down.  Neither loud squeeky toys nor a delicious cookie will break his concentration.

You keep an eye on them big guy.  We love you!

The trials of Sheltie Nation

Do you ever wonder why I’m so slow with email & why there is such a wait to get your photo posted?

I present the three most obvious reasons…
ThreetsCome on mom…we want to go out, play, eat, etc!

My silly wet Shelties…

Trevor & Toby each wait their turn to be dried off after being out in a rainstorm.  They love seeing the towels come out…because it means lots of fun butt & belly rubs are coming!
