Sheltie Super Bowl Sunday

The Super Bowl is this weekend, so if you plan on having a party, please mind your Sheltie’s safety. A gaggle of guests may frighten or agitate your dog, making it more prone to barking or biting. (Shelties can also slip out the door as guests come and go.)

As always, make sure your Sheltie is wearing proper identification and monitor them as your visitors arrive. You may have to keep them in a separate part of the house & away from the party goers if they get too upset or excited.

It’s also wise to stress to your guests not to feed your dog – no matter how hard they give you the “look”.  But, if really feel your pet must partake in your festivities, provide some pet food, a new bone or a few treats. But remember, that any large influx or change to a dog’s regular diet can cause vomiting and/or diarrhea…and thats no fun for either of you!

Thanks to oh_snap & her Sheltie Quincy for the perfect photo!
