Jasmine gets the royal treatment, Gloria! ;)

So here is the Sheltie scoop: Since little rescued Jasmine is getting older she can not walk as far as she used to. So, instead of carrying her once she gets too tired, we now pop her into the stroller! Took her out for a trial run yesterday and she was so trusting and allowed us to put her in without any fuss. We love her so much and want her to be with us. She knows it too!

Gorgeous Sheltie, fantastic idea. Where does one find such a stroller? I would love to purchase one for Matilda. Would be great for Farmer’s Markets, trips to Lowes, etc. Heck, I would even love one for myself!

I found this stroller at the store Pet People.
You can also do a Google search for ‘dog stollers’

      Good luck!

I was thinking about getting a little girl’s Disney Princess open wagon that I can pull for my Bailey, a rescue with special needs. She has deformed hind feet from severe arthritis, cannot jump or run, but loves to go to the park and roll in the grass, so I’m not worried she is going to jump out of the wagon at 8 years old. Plus I have a bad back and she is getting too heavy to carry from the house to the park, a block away. Or maybe a wheelie carry-on with a mesh net front for dogs. I see a few old smaller dogs in the park being pushed in dolly strollers too.

I love it too! And Jasmine is truly adorable. We bought a bike trailer last year for our 13 year old Maizy. You can trailer it behind a bike or push it like a stroller, and it allowed my best buddy to hang out with us all the time on a vacation. This spring, we’re looking forward to hittin’ the road/trails again, and this time, she’ll be joined by her BFF Hobbes, who we think with his arthritis, will also enjoy the VIP treatment! What’s cute than a sheltie in a stroller? Two shelties in a stroller!

I’m with you Jasmine – walking is for suckers!! This is the only way to travel :)

Wishing you many more years with your little furbaby Gloria!

Congratulations for adopting Jasmine. She is adorable and has found a loving home! I am going to get a doggy stroller too for our Kelly,as she gets tired on her walks sometimes, and her tootsies start to get sore…What an awesome idea! and Yep …no more sore paws!

Aw, sweet Jasmine! More and more where I live, I’ve seen people using strollers for their older dogs. I think it’s a wonderful thing to do! They still get the smells and the sights and sounds (mental stimulation) and get to be with the family–the main thing all shelties crave. Hugs to you, Gloria, for adopting!

Thanks for the kind and considerate responses to our post of little senior Jasmine on Sheltie Nation! My sister adopted her and I get to offer her doggie daycare on the days that she teaches.

Kelly, you are physic! I always call Jasmine our ‘Squishy Little Self’! I also ask her if she wants a ‘soft and squishy’… which means… Do you want to jump up on the sofa for cuddles? … and YES, she always does!

Tabitha, Sullivan, Jasmine used to be able to keep up with us on a mile walk. Now it is more like 6 blocks. Instead of leaving her at home or stopping every few blocks, she can ride in style now! We will try and build up her endurance over the next few months… but, at least now she can still be with us if we want to walk further!

Nancy, So glad to hear you no longer tie your sheltie to a tree! You are right, things are no longer the same! It is so nice to know that these strollers are available for us to use with our senior shelties. They want to be with us and now they can! Glad you have 3 now… they are like potato chips! Can’t have just one!

That is so cute and kind of you to do. Jasmine is lucky to have you and you are lucky to have her. When our Sheltie reached age 13 she, too, got tired. My husband used to tie her to the tree, head around the neighborhood and return to get her and walk the one short block home. She was quite satisfied to lie there and watch the day go by! But I think your method is much better. Everyone in our neighbor hood was nice and said hello to her. I would be afraid to do it now! Too many unknowns. Katie was our first Sheltie. Now I have three Shelties. I love them so much!

First, let me say congratulations for rescuing this adorable little sweetheart. We know, they know they are special and this just helps prove that a little further. Your little Jasmine is just too cute for words, you just gotta love these beautiful little seniors. This way she gets to spend more time with momma and not getting left behind just because she could no longer keep up with the pace. Hugs and kisses to you sweet little Jasmine.

Jasmine is so sweet! We have a doggy stroller for my senior too! He’s loved it from day 1!

F-kap says, “Yay! No more sore paws on walkies!” :D
