Riley2Have you ever wanted a Sheltie but wished for one with short hair? Look no further!

Meet Riley. He is a seven and half year old who’s mother was a Sheltie and no one is sure what breed the father was. Riley is a sable and white neutered male who is about 28 pounds and medium in size. He does have many characteristics of a Sheltie (head, markings, body) but he has a smooth (short) coat.

He was well taken care of and enjoys going for walks and/or runs. He is housebroken, up to date on shots, micro chipped, and heart worm negative. He likes being with people. Riley even enjoys getting groomed. He is good with other dogs but we do not know about cats. He is very active Sheltie mix; do not let the age fool you. He has lots of life left and he would love to be a companion dog for someone.

If you are interested in Riley please go the the Shetland Sheepdog Placement Services of NJ website and fill out an Adoption Application. This sweet boy deserves a loving fur-ever home. Come on Sheltie Nation, let’s help him find one!

Oh this handsome guy deserves a great home ASAP! I’m on the opposite coast, but perhaps East Coast SN members could spread the word about this very dignified looking boy. An easy keeper with the short hair but all the fun of a Sheltie! Good luck Riley.

What a handsome fella you are Riley and I would guess it shouldn’t take long before you find your forever home. Good luck, just be patient, your lucky human will be along any time.

He sounds practically perfect in every way. And being a mix, he could live well into his teens. I had a sheltie mix who lived to be sixteen! She was very strong and active into fourteen!
