Shadow
Until you run up to me in Heaven...

Shadow was the smartest, friendliest, and most cultured dog we have ever had. He got his name due to the fact that he was his older brother Toby’s shadow and even attached himself to his tail and went for merry-go-round rides. A fitting name would have been prancer. He was an accomplished carpenter at 6 months of age when on Christmas Eve where he stripped our kitchen wallpaper as a surprise. He ate fFf a plate. He would actually wipe his nose on a blanket after every meal (doesn’t every refined do wipe his mouth). He loved licorice. He would whine to let me know it was either 10 minutes until his morning feeding and supper “dining” times. He would whine when it was getting dark and time to put the lights on. He also would whine to let me know his little brother with special needs had used the pee pee pad. He never met a person he didn’t think came to see mainly him. At campgrounds he would always say “it is me you came to talk to”!! He would sneeze 3 times when excited and loved to play peek a boo with my husband’s socks and tolerated his Mother Teresa dress ups. He always crossed his right front paw over his left, even when sleeping or being carried.
He was born in MA but lived in RI, central Fl, Knoxville TN, and lastly south Florida. People always thought he was the prettiest and thought he was a girl as well as the youngest when he was in fact the oldest of 3 (at the time). He even got to fly in a plane at age 2.
Our broken hearts will one day heal and we will smile again thinking if our “Shatzie”

Shadow was beautiful! I can tell by your words you had a very close knit bond as we all have.
I lost my Sandy in April and feel your pain. Have strength, remember….they’re still with us even though we can’t see them. One day Shadow will meet you and both of you will have a joy we cannot imagine on earth.
My deepest sympathy at this most difficult time.
