Cosette Marie

She was a sweet yet sassy lady

She was my empty nest dog, joining us as the kids were leaving home, one by one. She was there for me to take care of when the kids were grown. She liked to rip up lots of things, especially paper products. I always said she liked to read. She also had a fondness for carrying my son’s socks around when he still lived at home. She liked almost everyone who came to the house and let them know she didn’t want them to leave. She appointed herself the guardian of her little corner of our neighborhood and let outsiders know this from her window seat. She was always there to listen and put her head on my knee or arm. She wasn’t really a cuddler and preferred to lay on the bare floor over furniture except when it was cold. She loved squeaky toys best and food.

Due to multiple health issues impacting her life and her age I made the difficult decision. It was hard to see her struggle outside and not wanting to eat any longer. It was the hardest day I’ve had since my own dad died when I took her to the vet for the last time. I held her soft paws and stroked he head as she went to a better place. No more tummy pain, no back legs that would give out, restored hearing and vision, and a full strength bark again. I loved and will miss this sweet, crazy loving girl were blessed to know for many years.
