I got Laddie in 1999 from a woman who rescued him from a shelter. He had been dropped off by his previous owners to be put down because he was allergic to fleas and had chewed the hair off his butt from itching. He had a lot of medical problems later in life which led me to think he was the product of a puppy mill/backyard breeder. He was still a trouper and he lived to 15 years and 3 months.
