Millie

Forever Millie

In 2012, after a failed 28 year marriage, I decided to start looking for a companion pup. I looked for quite awhile until I found Millie Millie was a rescue Sheltie. I never had a rescue pup before. I was a tad Leary not knowing what to expect. For the first few months, Millie was shy. But I gave her plenty of space. Over the years she learned that no harm would ever come to her. That she was loved each and every day. Yesterday. She became suddenly ill. I got her to the vet as fast as I could. And telling the vet whatever it cost. Just make her well. It didn’t happen I couldn’t sleep last night. She is everywhere at home. I miss her snoring. I miss her barking when she goes outside at night to scare all the bad away. We walked on the ocean beach three times a week. She loved to pick out treats at the store and loved bottled water. And she loved loved cheese. Someone said. Good job rescuing her. But what the friend didn’t know. She rescued me. We rescued each other. I miss you Millie Be there when it’s time for me to go. I love you

We lost our beloved Oliver on the 16th, we understand what you are going through. Your pup must have been a wonderful, good girl. Your beautiful Millie will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge.

Please, remember in ~*~ Millie’s memory ~*~ there are other rescue Shelties that need someone to Love. They will not replace your heart dog but they will help fill your heart! When you can not stand the empty space any more please in “Millie’s memory ~*~ give yourself the joy of allowing another one to fill their heart and your space.

Your post made me tear up. How well we understand your feelings. They do rescue US!
Your comment… “Be there when it’s time for me to go.” is what I say each time I lose a precious pup.
    RIP Millie… run free…

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s amazing how a special dog can heal our heart, when nothing else can.
