Sheltie fosters Cairn puppies
Our kennel name is Cornerstone Shelties and Cairn Terriers. Recently we suffered a tragic loss when our lovely Cairn Katie (Cornerstone Enchanted Cadence) passed away. She had delivered 4 healthy champion sired pups on Oct 14. It was the culmination of a healthy pregnancy, nursing and caring for her pups for 5 weeks, until Nov 19 when in a 24 hour time frame, she became extremely ill. After ultrasounding her chest and abdomen, we were informed that Katie had a very aggressive lymphoma and euthanasia was our only realistic option. Our precious Sheltie Breianne, who had a litter of 7 pups whelped on Oct 13, became a surrogate mother [...]

The WKC show has taken place every year since it started [...]

Enhancing the experience even more was knowing one of the [...]

To her mother's dismay, Shanna picked a runt, a sickly pup the veterinarian said wouldn't survive. But Shanna took her anyway, coddling and bottle feeding the little Sheltie named Holly until she was well enough to eat on her own. Shanna had saved the pup's life. [...]
Toxins found in Pet Toys sold at Wal-Mart
Just when you thought we might be past all the pet food recalls from Chinese manufacturers, up crops problems with human toys. Gee, if human toys are a problem, I can't imagine there would be a problem with Chinese made pet toys, right? Not surprisingly, a US lab found high levels of toxins in Chinese made pet toys. From the consumeraffairs.com website: Two Chinese-made toys for pets sold at Wal-Mart stores contain elevated levels of lead, chromium, and cadmium, according to a forensic toxicologist whose lab tested the products for ConsumerAffairs.com. Two veterinarians, however, said the levels of toxic metals [...]
