A Sheltie Lesson…
Breeze is 13 years old. He is blind, deaf and just tad grey, but still lives life to it's fullest! Tandy says he goes everywhere with his 'penguin'!
Tommy: Utah Sheltie Rescue
Tommy was born in 2005 and is the product of breeding two Blue Merle Shelties; which is a very bad combination. Because of the genetic lottery that comes from such breeding, Tommy was born blind and deaf...and very, very white. His left eye can detect light and some motion very close to his face, but nothing else. In his short life, this incredibly sweet and loving boy has already had several homes. Here is my white Sheltie puppy Sasha “herding” sheep. She was born deaf and partially blind, but true instinct shines through despite any handicaps! What a wonderful story Nancy!
Adorable pair….
Here is a photo of Sophie, our six month old female Sheltie and Mac, a male Siamese/calico mix kitten. Mac is partially blind and can only see changes in light and slower movement. Sophie has taken it upon herself to be Mac's protector and they're quite an adorable pair. Awwwwe, Jennifer!
Sheltie is my protector
Bob sent us this cute photo, but it is even cuter when you know the story behind it. "This picture is of Shadow being being Cocoa's protector. In this picture, Cocoa is 16 and blind. Shadow would lead her outside and back in and they would sleep together." (Cocoa is now a Dauchund Angel.) Very, very sweet Bob!
