Carrie: Tennessee Sheltie Rescue
This is Carrie, a rescue dog that I fostered for the last couple months. She's 9 years old and was in some type of puppymill-like place. Fortunately, she found her way to Fresh Start Sheltie Rescue here in Memphis, which I help out by fostering dogs on occasion. Dolly: NJ Sheltie Rescue
Isn't she a cutie? Dolly is 11/12 years young spayed female Sheltie. She and another dog were found tied to a bench in Northern NJ infested with fleas & had severly matted coats. When brought to the shelter, the workers said they had never seen a dog so severely matted. Which is why she had to be shaved & her coat is still growing back. Lucky meets Puck
We recently pulled a little blue merle male Sheltie from a local shelter and he has needed a lot of work. One of Puck's rear legs was damaged to such an extent that it needed to be amputated. At the same time, the poor guy had to be neutered and have 10 teeth pulled! He is doing very well now and is a happy little boy, with his tail always wagging. Kamal: NJ Sheltie Rescue
OK Sheltie Nation...rally round! There is a super sweet Sheltie in need of a forever home. Kamal (pronounced Ka-Maal...which evidently means 'Perfection'.) is a 6 yr. old, tri-color Sheltie. He stands about 18" at the shoulder & weighs about 40 pounds. Kamal is good with children, other pets, is up-to-date on shots & dental work. Although sadly, an extensive vet exam has shown that Kamal didn't receive very good care for the majority of his life.
